Where We Began

Alpha Testing, Inc. (Alpha) was established in 1983 by Mr. Jim Hillhouse, PE as a geotechnical engineering firm in Dallas, TX to provide full-service geotechnical, construction materials testing and inspection, and environmental services.  

First In Service

Originally named "Alpha" to focus the young firm on being first in service, Alpha maintains that focus today by centering our 130 person staff on a strong commitment to provide accurate, reliable and responsive geotechnical engineering and related services.

Alpha, a Texas corporation and registered engineering firm #813, currently has offices in Dallas, Fort Worth and San Antonio, Texas.  

Where We Can Serve You

Alpha can provide engineers and geologists registered in the states of Arizona, Arkansas, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia. We serve the southwestern United States (see inset) from the offices listed above.

Whether drilling under a statewide contract for Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), serving a US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) project in Louisiana, or serving wind energy clients in west Texas and New Mexico, Alpha is able to efficiently serve your engineering needs from our current locations.

Credentials

Alpha meets the requirements of ASTM E-329. Alpha holds TxDOT pre-certification and individual certifications. Alpha is AASHTO accredited and USACE validated.

HUB / DBE - Mentor / Protégé to Addula Consulting Engineers

Alpha is a participant in the Railroad Commission of Texas HUB Mentor-Protégé program, serving as mentor to Addula Consulting Engineers (ACE).  ACE, registered Texas Engineering Firm # F-11220, employs an engineer licensed in Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas. Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC)

Rather than developing an overall "one size fits all" approach to QA/QC, we have developed an extensive library of QA procedures. From this library, we develop QC plans that are relevant to your specific projects. ALPHA employs a system developed by Mr. Morgan Fine, Quality Control Manager.
